First time

The first contact with a psychologist can take a lot of strength and courage. However, it is normal that it is difficult to take this first step. Talking about your difficulties to someone you don’t know can be frightening. If you have arrived on this page, it means that you are almost ready to start this process. Don’t worry, I am aware of the difficulty that this step can represent, and I will do my best to put you at ease during a first meeting aimed at demystifying what a psychological consultation can look like. Finally, whether it is outside, in the office or online, your confidentiality will be guaranteed, and you will be welcomed in a non-judgmental space where you can bring everything you want to bring and where you can progress at your own pace.

Different types of sessions:

Online

Thanks to the great evolution of the online conference systems, we can meet even if we are living in different countries. Online support works is flexible and is developing fast. It has the big advantage that when you move you don’t need to find another person to support you, I can always be with you. I do work with a secure platform guarantying the confidentiality of our session and protecting our data.

Walk to talk

Online or office consultations may not be suitable for everyone. Indeed, in a world where most people work all day in front of a screen in an office, it may be more appealing and feel good to go outside. In addition, by its nature of stimulating the brain bilaterally, walking has virtues for accelerating emotional digestion.

Therapy with horses

Horses are exceptional beings with great therapeutic qualities. They excel in non-verbal communication and emotional management and are masters of meditation. Including the horse in the therapeutic process can be beneficial for anyone who feels attracted by their presence.

The steps of the contact are as follows:

    1. You send me an email briefly explaining why you wish to consult
    2. I answer you by explaining the framework of the sessions and how they work
    3. We set up a first meeting for which you may or may not prepare what you want to say: ”Come as you are”
    4. At our first meeting I will take the time to explain how the sessions work and we will take the time to understand your needs and expectations. If you feel stressed before our first session, please understand that this is normal and that there is nothing to worry about. I will do my best to put you at ease and make you feel safe and confident during this first exchange.
    5. We will arrange a next appointment, or I will give you the contact details of a colleague if necessary.
